Marie Jaksch Marie Jaksch‘s multidisciplinary works range from installations to performances. Her artistic repertoire includes site-specific installations with performative sound elements and video sculptures as well as immersive live moments. The focus of the overall installative composition is on the material in order to appeal to the viewer‘s senses, whereby she emphasises the performativity of the material as a decisive aspect. Marie Jaksch studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich by Prof Julian Rosefeldt from 2017 to 2021 and graduated as a Meisterschülerin of Rosefeldt. Her works have been exhibited in prestigious venues worldwide, including the Louvre Museum in Paris, the Goethe-Institut Paris and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. She has received prestigious scholarships and residencies, such as the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, USA and twice the European Art Scholarship of the District of Upper Bavaria in co-operation with MeMeraki Limasoll, Cyprus and Salzamt Linz, Austria.
Marie Jaksch‘s artistic career goes beyond her fine arts studies: in 2013, she graduated from the Berlin University of the Arts (UDK) with a diploma in costume design with honours.As a stage and costume designer, she has worked for various art film and theatre productions and collaborated with renowned institutions such as Kampnagel Hamburg, arte, Volkstheater, Schauburg, schwerer Reiter and Pathos Munich.
As director and artistic curator of the performance collective „service not included“, which was founded in 2017, she has received numerous grants. Marie Jaksch repeatedly creates spaces in which viewers, artists and performers have to interact. The body or the object functions as the motor of the respective spatial productions.
